PennApic "Outdoor Colony" Field trip & Breakfast Outing

June 26, 2011

On the morning of June 26th., several PennApic members went on a felid trip to assess and work on an outdoor colony that had taken up residence under a dead out hive.

The comb was inside a cinder block making removal very difficult. It was decided to cut several 3 inch holes on the bottom board of the hive above the colony. Hopefully the bees move up and into the hive body. We will add photos of the progress as they become available.

Afterwards, some of the Pennsylvania Backyard Beekeepers went to breakfast which was a very nice with some great morning chat.

We hope to get together again for another breakfast outing and perhaps make this a regular event.
